2016

Where it all started

Minster Car Co began on Grovehill Road in Beverley with just two members of staff and a small hand-picked stock of vehicles. Operating without a traditional showroom, the focus was on a more personal, one-to-one experience built on trust, transparency, and genuine customer care. These values became the foundation of the business as it grew.

2018

Building Momentum in Hull

We expanded to Cleveland Street in Hull, our stock grew from around 10 vehicles to over 40, allowing us to offer a wider range of makes, models and price points. Our team grew from 2 to 4, enabling us to provide a more attentive and personalised level of service. During this period, we strengthened our offering with extended warranty options, competitive finance packages and a broader choice of vehicles. Even through the challenges of the COVID-19 period, operating under click-and-collect restrictions we continued to grow, adapt and serve customers with the same commitment to honesty, transparency and support.

2021

Growth, Innovation & First EVs

We expanded into a larger Hull location, increasing our stock to over 80 vehicles and growing our team to 8 members. This marked a turning point in our journey, as we introduced our first electric vehicles, laying the foundations to become one of the UK’s leading independent EV providers today. The move brought greater visibility and footfall in the heart of Hull, alongside our first dedicated valeting and detailing workshop, improving the level of preparation and presentation for every vehicle. We also launched online telesales and completed our first full brand refresh. For the first time, we opened 7 days a week to offer our customers even greater convenience.

2024

Becoming Minster Motor Group

Minster Car Co officially became Minster Motor Group, marking our most significant growth to date. We relocated to our largest site yet and completed a full rebrand. This move introduced our first indoor showroom, alongside a large outdoor compound and a broader, more diverse range of vehicles than ever before. We established our own fully equipped workshop and service team, allowing MOTs, servicing, repairs, paintwork and preparation to be completed in-house for the first time. With this expansion came the growth of our team to over 20 members strengthening the level of care and expertise we offer our customers every day.
